World Cup
After a stunning two-goal comeback against Slovenia that held their
position in second place in Group C, the U.S. heads into the third group
game with the knowledge that a victory guarantees a spot in the
knockout phase. They face an Algerian team still with everything to play
for following their 0-0 draw with England, the Desert Foxes knowing
that a victory could still be enough to see them through. Kickoff at
Loftus Versfeld Stadium is set for 4 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET), and
the match will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Despite a huge turnout of El Salvador fans at RFK
Stadium Saturday night, D.C. United prevailed in a charity match over
the national team. The Black-and-Red dominated possession and chances on
goal from the beginning, and substitute Adam Cristman finally gave
United the game-winner in the 51st minute. Defender Marc Burch made his
first appearance of the year after undergoing surgery for a fractured
sesmoid bone in his right foot in early March.

> Richmond Kickers edge Harrisburg, 1-0
The Richmond Kickers edged the Harrisburg City Islanders Saturday night
by a narrow 1-0 margin at the Skyline Sports Complex. Kickers
goal-scoring legend, Matthew Delicāte registered his ninth goal of the
season, 10th overall, when he connected on a well-placed cross by Mike
Burke. Kickers goalkeeper Ronnie Pascale posted four heroic saves to
preserve the clean sheet.

Crystal Palace Baltimore halted their recent string of bad results on the
road by taking a point from a stingy Carolina team at WakeMed Soccer
Park. A bizarre Bobo first half own goal was canceled out by a
well-struck Franks penalty in the 51st minute. Under some heavy second
half pressure, a gutsy performance by the Palace defense ensured that
the Baltimore outfit return home with a share of the spoils.

Christine Nairn (Bowie, Md.), Jenna Richmond (Centreville, Va.) and
Tiffany McCarty (Laurel, Md.) will join the U.S. U-20 Women's National
Team at a three-day training camp from July 4-6 at the Orangetown Soccer
Complex in Orangeburg, N.Y. before departing for Germany and the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

winning the VA state AAA championship 4-0 over

> D.C. United Academy set for National Playoffs in Greensboro, NC
D.C. United's Youth Academy sides took a break from competitive play
this past weekend in preparation for the 2010 National Playoffs. The
teams head to Greensboro, NC this Thursday in hopes of advancing to the
National Finals in California. U-18 stalwart Conor Shanosky will not be
with the team for the playoffs as he has been called into the U.S. Men's
National Team U-20 camp for training in San Jose, CA.

shutting out the New Jersey Rangers 2-0 Saturday night in Denville, NJ.
On Sunday, the Royals doubled their season win total by besting the
West Virginia Chaos 3-1 at Hellwig Memorial Field.

Consolation Final, while FAC St. Corinthians
took the CSL First Division Championship Final
on Sunday.
George Mason senior men's soccer player Richard Edgar was selected as
the Colonial Athletic Association Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Washington Freedom players Nikki Marshall and Becky Sauerbrunn traveled to Joint Base Myer last week, granting the USO
of Metropolitan Washington with a check for $2,488. The money was
raised from the special auction of Freedom camouflage jerseys worn on
"Military Appreciation Night" held on May 30.
Crystal Palace Baltimore will host the Minnesota Stars on the Calvert
Hall College High School campus at 5pm this Saturday. It will be the
first ever professional soccer game at Paul Angelo Russo Stadium.
The Richmond Kickers will host division foe, Real Maryland, in a U.S.
Open Cup tonight at 7pm at Richmond City Stadium. They are asking fans
to wear white to support the Kickers first-ever "White Out."
Despite grabbing an early lead, the Northern Virginia Majestics surrendered four goals in the 4-2 road trip loss to the Hampton Roads
Piranhas Saturday night.
The Longwood women have announced their 2010 schedule.
The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) has announced the dates and locations of its five regular-season national
