U.S. storms back to earn 2-2 draw with Slovenia in second World Cup game
The U.S. Men's National Team continued their run in the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a dramatic come-from-behind
effort to draw Slovenia 2-2. Down 2-0 at halftime, an early second half
strike by Landon Donovan created momentum before Michael Bradley tied
the match in the 82nd minute. Another goal by Maurice Edu on a free kick
just minutes later seemed certain to earn the U.S. the win, but referee
Koman Coulibaly disallowed the finish for a U.S. foul in the box.

Former D.C. United players Eddie Pope, Richie Williams, and Mark Simpson
are the 2010 finalists for induction to the club's Hall of Tradition.
All three were members of the original Black-and-Red squad and heavily

year's inductee will be determined by a fan vote conducted June 16-30

D.C. United is set to host either the Richmond Kickers (USL-2) or Real Maryland (USL-2)
in the third round of the 2010 U.S. Open Cup. The game will be held at
George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va. June 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic and D.C. United will air encore
presentations of five memorable United matches during the week of June
21-26 as a part of D.C. United Traditions Week.
The Richmond Kickers continue their regular season home stand this
weekend, when they visit the Harrisburg City Islanders tomorrow. The
Kickers return home to Richmond City Stadium on Tuesday, June 22nd to

are hearing how important it is for parents to put their kids in
soccer-related activities all year long or their child will fall behind.
Not only do the children now play their regular fall and spring soccer
seasons, but some play their travel season and high school season at the
same time. More are playing in summer leagues that are popping up all
over the place. But is this good for soccer players to only play soccer
all year long? Miller talks about the risks and how it may be best to
develop the whole body through multiple sports.

rankings for teams in one local league, by hand, using spreadsheets with
a proven algorithm based on the one used by FIFA to rank national
teams. It worked, but required far too many hours of our own time, and
was not ever really fair because it only included games within the
league. We've now finally automated the way scores are collected, by turning
