England National Team Drama: The U.S. Men's National Team has suffered numerous injuries during the World Cup build-up, but it's nothing compared to what England is going through. In addition to the injury of Ashley Cole, England is dealing with a sex scandal that could be tearing their team apart. John Terry was stripped of his captain's band after reportedly having an affair with teammate Wayne Bridge's girlfriend at the time and mother of his child. Now, Bridge is refusing a spot on the World Cup roster because he does not want to be in the same dressing room as Terry. What will happen when Chelsea (Terry's club) and Manchester City (Bridge's club) face off next week? How will all of the drama and injuries affect the first game of the World Cup between the US and England? We don't know, but it should be interesting to watch.

Mainstream Sports Media Will Have Field Day With MLS Strike: Soccer doesn't make its way into the mainstream sports media very often, and when it does, it's often in a mocking way. So what will happen in a World Cup year if the MLS goes on strike? With so many good stories in the soccer world, let's hope this isn't the only one the mainstream sports writers to latch onto.

Hege Riise Helping U.S. Women Now: One of the most well-known players from the U.S. Women's arch-rival Norway has switched sides. Hege Riise used to torment the WNT, and earned the Golden Ball in the 1995 World Cup when Norway famously knocked out the U.S. in the semifinals. Now she is a part of the U.S. WNT family as Pia Sundhage's assistant coach, and it seems respect and admiration for Riise has surpassed old rivalries.

Diski Dancing Their Way To The World Cup: The U12 97 Fusion girls from Falls Church, Va. have earned their way to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The group won an online contest Diski dancing, and will be heading to South Africa this summer for soccer and sightseeing. Check out the FOX 5 video report about the team.

Soccer Players Forced To Choose - High School Or Academy: Most players try to play both high school and club soccer. However, in recent years, more and more prep coaches are losing elite players to soccer academies who don't allow their players to participate in high school soccer.
