Spectacular Clint Dempsey Goal: Check out this long-range rocket from Dempsey during Fulham's loss to Stoke City on Tuesday. You can bet the defenders on England's national team who will be marking Dempsey at the World Cup this summer have taken note of it. This is definitely one of the greatest goals ever scored by an American in England, but does it top John Harkes' rocket?
What Makes a Good MLS Referee?: Angelo Bratsis was a referee in the US
for 12 years and has been an instructor since 1979. Check out his take
on the challenges and requirements of MLS referees, the necessary
character, and which types are more effective on the field.
Great Sportsmanship at Disney: After a battle on the field for the Girls' U17 Predator Championship, the FC Virginia and JFA Academy (Japan) teams hung around after the trophy presentation to talk, take pictures, giggle, and teach each other their language. In a year of pony-tail pulling and parents being banned from the sidelines, it's extremely touching to see great athletes displaying competing hard and then having a good time together after.
