Best Of Connections: U.S. Soccer announced the first four of this year's 'Best Of' awards yesterday. Topping the list for best retail soccer store was Angelo's Soccer Corner, based in Lancaster, PA, my home town. Angelo was the Freshmen coach at my high school (Hempfield) for a season before opening his first store in a real junker of an old house right on the edge of the Franklin and Marshall college campus, though he quickly out-grew it a moved across the street to a 'real' commercial building. In addition learning a lot about the game from him as a coach, Angelo was a teammate in many a indoor and summer leagues before I moved to Northern Virginia in 1998, and one of the nicest guys you'll meet in the game. I highly recommend a visit to one of their stores next time you're in Southeastern, PA. They have five locations. Their web site is www.soccercorner.com. Congratulations Angelo!

PSW Soccer Breakfast Reminder: We're still planning our first PSW Soccer Breakfast for Wednesday, January 7th at 7 am in Tyson's Corner. We're working on a celebrity guest, an exact location, and on getting the pre-registration form loaded on our web site. Please save the date! If you own/manage a restaurant in the area and would like to host this, or a future breakfast, please let us know. There will be door prizes!
