Katrina Savoy, sophomore midfielder at Thomas Stone, has been named Charles County Player of the Year.
The Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club U15 Richmond City team won the City Championship defeating four-time champion Pine Camp.
Over the month of November, several FC Richmond teams were successful in CASL Shootout & Showcases in Raleigh, NC.
Several FC Frederick Teams have had great results in local and out-of-state tournaments.
CUSC Predators and the U-9 Wave participated in the recent Chesapeake Challenge Cup (Nov. 22-23) and captured the Championship Title.
The Virginia Legacy U15 Phoenix girls traveled to Lancaster, Pa. Nov 22-23 to the 23rd Annual Hempfield Fall Classic where they won the championship.
The BSC Freedom (Girls U12) as well as the Chesapeake Blast (Boys U13) emerged as Champions at the Hempfield Fall Classic in Lancaster, Pa., Nov, 22-23.
DC Stoddert's Coaches and Volunteer of the Year will be honored Dec. 3rd at the Annual General Meeting; Don Blanchon, Windsor Freemyer, Mohan Telfer, and Tony Romero. Also, Referee of the Year is Mike McNamee, Grade 8 and Anya Higman, Grade 9.
Julio Zarate, Director of Coaching for Pachuca FC, USA, has been named coach of the year for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC). Coach Zarate led the Good Counsel men's soccer team to a remarkable improvement in one year. In 2007 the team finished with a 6-18-1 record and in 2008 the team finished 14-7-2.
