In their second trip to the USL Super Y-League North American Finals, the U17 Northern Virginia Majestics drew one step closer to reaching the final match but fell to the Ottawa Fury 2-0 on Monday in the semi-finals.

Black (and Red) Friday: D.C. United is holding a "while supplies last" Black (and Red) Friday replica jersey sale today on their web site. Normally we wouldn't promote a commercial offer here, but I think it's a big deal to be able to get an MLS replica jersey with FREE customization for 50% off. Adult jerseys are $35, youth are $25. Typically this jersey would cost nearly $70 + additional charges of around $20 for customizing the name and number on the back.
Cooper To Germany?: Baltimore-born, but Texas raised Striker Kenny Cooper looks likely to move back to Europe after a 3-year stint in MLS for FC Dallas. Cooper, a former Manchester United Reserves player, finished 2nd to Landon Donovan in MLS goals this season, and looks likely to fetch MLS around $4 Million in transfer fees and an 8-fold salary increase with a move to the German Bundesliga.
College Park Saturday at 1:00 p.m.: Tomorrow all soccer eyes in the D.C. region should be focused on College Park, Maryland, where the Terps men's soccer team will host California in the third round of the NCAA Championship tournament. If you you've never been to Ludwig field for a tournament match, you don't know what you're missing. They pack the place with around 7,000 fans, and no one is more than 75-feet from the field. It's a fantastic opportunity for area youth coaches to expose your players to the college game at the highest level with a great atmosphere. It will help your players attached a tangible visualization to their stated dreams of playing college soccer one day, which can be an invaluable coaching tool for many years to come.
