The U.S. Men's National Team downed Guatemala 2-0 in front of 9,303 fans in Colorado on Wednesday. Second-half goals from Kenny Cooper and Freddy Adu paced the U.S. during a solid performance in their final match of the Semifinal Round of CONCACAF qualifying. Besides Adu, our area was represented by Clarence Goodsen, a former BRYC player, who went 90 minutes in his first World Cup qualifying start.

Semret Seyoum, River Hill soccer, has been named Girls Athlete of the Week by the Baltimore Sun.

Ethan Zohn, winner of Survivor Africa, has dribbled a soccer ball 550 miles from Boston, MA to Washington, D.C., raising over $150,000 to date to fight HIV/AIDS. He completes his journey on December 1st, (World AIDS Day) with a final lap around the National Mall along with Ben Olsen (D.C.United) and Rebecca Moros (Washington Freedom).
