---- Notes ----

The deadline has been extended to October 1st for nominations for VYSA's annual coach, young referee, administrator and volunteer awards, as well as inductees to the Virginia DC Soccer Hall of Fame.

Your nominations for the Responsible Coach award sponsored by Liberty Mutual are due August 31. Is your coach a Responsible Coach? Nominate him or her now for a Responsible Coaching Award!

Dulles National Soccer Tournament scores have been posted.

---- Editor ----

Bruce Arena Settling In With Becks: Virginia local Bruce Arena has been through his first full week as Head Coach and GM with the LA Galaxy, and despite a debut loss to Chicago, the mood in LA LA Land is optimistic. Can the most successful soccer coach in US history salvage the season for the MLS team with the highest global profile. How long will Beckham put up with the situation? He's been a champion everywhere he's gone and had bad seasons before, but missing the playoffs for second year in a row in a division with the weaker teams in the league on average must been gnawing at the England international's pride.

Yanks-Abroad: Check out this week's Yanks-Abroad.com round up for an update on other Yanks playing overseas (or over boarders in the case of our growing Mexican League contingency).
