All time MLS Goal scoring leader Jaime Moreno earned Goal of the Week honors this week for his sublime header against Kansas City on Saturday night at RFK.
Real Maryland's Super-20s finished in the Top Four at the Super-20 National tournament last weekend. On the way to the semi-finals they upset defending national champions PDA (NJ) 1-0 and dispatched the Carolina Dynamo 3-0.
Stephen Mein, Tyler Romano, Sarah Scheurich, and Brittany Michels have been awarded scholarships by Beach FC.

U.S. Soccer has announced the possible setups for the U.S. Open Cup Final, to be televised by Fox Soccer Channel. The game, originally scheduled for August 26, will now be on September 3, 15 or 22. Final locations and dates will depend on who wins the August 12th semifinals. Stay tuned.
On Saturday, August 9 at 1 p.m. ET, footage from all 12 US Youth Soccer National Championship games will be featured on Fox Soccer Channel during the two-hour US Youth Soccer National Championships Highlight Show.
The United States Adult Soccer Association will webcast the Men's Amateur Cup and Women's U23 Cup Finals on Sunday at their website, www.usasa.com. The Women's U23 airs live at 8:00 a.m. ET and the Men's Amateur at 11:00 a.m. ET. Watch the Baltimore Colts FC (Men) and Bethesda SC (Women) from our area.
In a pre-season warm-up, the Virginia Commonwealth University women's soccer team will welcome the Washington Freedom to VCU's Sports Backers Stadium, Saturday, August 23 at 7 pm.
The Richmond Kickers will participate in the 25th annual Watermelon Festival this Sunday in Carytown. Youth players should wear their red jersey and stop by the Kickers booth to receive a complimentary gift as thanks for showing Kickers pride.
Applications for Thunder Soccer Fest Labor Day Soccer Tournament, August 30-31, are due today. The event will be held at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
