Baltimore Bays leading their group in Los Angeles as the Development Academy Finals Week with two wins. First was on Saturday, downing Chicago Fire 4-1 on four goals by Chris Agorsor. Then on Monday, Agorsor added another in a 3-0 dismantling of FC Westchester. The Bays play Colorado Rush on Wednesday, and with a tie or win, will play in the Championship match on ESPN2 at 11 PM Eastern. All final matches will be broadcast on either ESPN2 or ESPNU, an unprecedented amount of TV coverage for youth soccer in the United States.
Nicola Davies, FC Fredericksburg Lady Gunner goalkeeper, was recognized for her performance last week against the Northern Virginia Majestics with eight saves, securing a 0-0 tie.
Rebecca Ardinger and Edward McMurtrie, Washington County students and soccer athletes, were among six students awarded Frost State University scholarships recently.
The PDL Hampton Roads Piranhas beat instate rivals Northern Virginia Royals 1-0 Friday evening at Howison Park with a goal just before half time.
W-League Hampton Roads Piranhas completed their season sweep of the West Virginia Illusion by a score of 4-0 in front of 70 fans at Duvall-Rosier Field in Fairmont Saturday.
Bethesda FC (MD) won the USASA Women's Under 23 competition in Region I on Sunday July 13, 2-0, against Delaware U23. They will represent the region at the USASA National Finals being held at the Starfire Sports Complex in Seattle, WA on August 7-10.
The Northern Virginia Royals battled through stormy weather on Sunday to emerge with a 3-1 win over the visiting Virginia Legacy.
The Richmond Kickers Destiny improved their record to 5-7-0 this weekend with a pair of victories; they edged the West Virginia Illusion 1-0 on the road on Friday and then sealed a 3-2 win over the Carolina Dynamo on Sunday.

US Under 17 girls arrive in Trinidad for World Cup qualifying.
The Real Maryland Super 20s tied the Harrisburg City Islanders 0-0 on Saturday in the Pennsylvania capital to maintain their second place standing in Mid-Atlantic Group B.
The Richmond Kickers Future rallied back from a goal deficit to tie the game 1-1 against division-leading Reading Rage in the final seconds of stoppage time on Sunday afternoon.
The Maryland State Youth Soccer Association has launched a new web site design, they claim will make information easier to find.
Registration closes today for the Dulles National Soccer Tournament.
There are several WAGS deadlines coming up this week. Today is the last day to drop and still receive a refund. Thursday field forms and scheudling requests are due. Friday division structures will be posted.
