The U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team earned a berth to the 2008 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup after a 4-0 victory over Costa Rica in the semifinal of the CONCACAF qualifying tournament at Estadio Cuauhtemoc in Puebla, Mexico. The U.S. will play rival Canada in the CONCACAF Final on Saturday, June 28, at 2:30 p.m. CT.

In Super-Y action, the Northern Virginia Majestics had favorable overall results against both Fredericksburg Gunners and Richmond Strikers Y-League for the weekend while the Royals' youth sides went undefeated against the visiting Hampton Roads Piranhas boys' teams.

The Montgomery County Department of Recreation is offering four new one-week sports clinics free of charge to sixth- twelfth graders at county schools. Soccer will be the first sport introduced, from July 14-18.

Montgomery County school system's first artificial-turf field moved through final approval this week, and could be built at Rockville's Richard Montgomery High School by the beginning of the school year.

MLS Futbolito, the official 4 vs 4 tournament of Major League Soccer takes place Saturday, June 28 starting at 9 am at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
