ESPN has confirmed Real Madrid is reportedly interested in American teenage star Jozy Altidore. Madrid said Friday that sporting director assistant Carlos Bucero had traveled to New York amid reports the Spanish champions were interested in signing the 18-year-old New York Red Bulls striker. Altidore's agent wouldn't say if he had met with Bucero, but confirmed his client's interest in Madrid. A move to Madrid would see Altidore join U.S. teammate Freddy Adu on the Iberian Peninsula. The 18-year-old Adu moved to Portuguese club Benfica from D.C. United in August. Jozy Altidore, who recently turned 18, has scored 12 goals in 29 regular-season games with MLS' Red Bulls. Kyle McHugh (Baldwin, Md.), a senior Midfielder at Princeton, and Keith Vereb (Bowie, Md.), a Defender at Penn, were among the 22 athletes selected as First Team All-Ivy and Second Team All-Ivy respectively by All-Ivy coaches. Kyle Lynch (Fairfax, Va.), a Defender at Cornell, received honorable mention.
Wilson ended School Without Walls's four-year DCIAA girls soccer title run with a 3-0 victory at the RFK Auxiliary Field on November 17th. It was Wilson's first championship since 2000, when the Tigers took the conference's inaugural title. Esmeraldy Arce, Jessica Trejo, and Chaucia Sydnor (who also assisted Arce's and Trejo's goals) scored.
Baltimore Casa Mia Bays (1-0-0) opened their inaugural US Youth Soccer National League campaign with a 1-0 win over CASL Elite (1-1-0) on Jonathan Guzman's tally in the last minute of play. However, on Day 3, Vardar (1-2-0) upset the defending US Youth Soccer National Champion Baltimore Casa Mia Bays 2-1 to close out Sunday's Boys Under-15 action leaving the Bays ranked at No.4 in U15 as of Nov 25.
The U13 VSA Heat girls went undefeated and un-scored-upon this past weekend in winning the Disney Junior Soccer Showcase. They scored 17 goals on the weekend, including the 1-0 defeat of Dallas Texans in the final.
---- Notes ---- James Madison women's soccer held off 12th-ranked West Virginia for more than 75 minutes before the Mountaineers scored twice for a 2-0 victory in the second round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament on November 18. The Dukes, who set school records for most wins and fewest losses in a season, had advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in the team's eight NCAA appearances.
Five local players will be with the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team or the U.S. Under-16 Girl's National Team as they head out to famed South American soccer cities in December. The U.S. U-17s will be heading to Buenos Aires, Argentina, from Dec. 7-17 while the U-16s head to Rio de Janeiro from Dec. 7-16.
The finalists for each of four prestigious U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year Awards - Male, Female, Young Male and Young Female - have been announced by the sport's governing body in the United States. Online voting began November 16 and continues through December 7. Fans may vote once a day.

The National Association of Collegiate Women's Athletics Administrators has announced the creation of two new awards that will honor young administrators. Nominations for both awards must be received by the NACWAA national office by December 15.
All teams that were new to WAGS in Fall 2007 and are entering the league for the Spring 2008 season are required to send the Head Coach and the team's TSL to the appropriate class in January.

Reports in the Argentine media say that Veron has meetings set up with Estudiantes officials this week to discuss his future and that he plans to announce his decision by Dec. 15.
