Emilio's 20 goals made him the first player to reach the 20-goal mark since 2002. D.C. United is the first team in League history to have back-to-back MVP winners, as Christian Gomez captured the award last year. Marco Etcheverry earned the honor following the 1998 season.

---- Editor's Corner ----

Foundation Auction: Remember to bid on a special auction of autographed jerseys from the world's top soccer teams in the U.S. Soccer Foundation's Holiday Auction. All proceeds go to the David Vanole Memorial Fund which was established in loving memory of U.S. international David Vanole. The auction ends December 13.

Stadium Issues: Think D.C. United is the only pro soccer team in America with stadium issues? Think again. It must be the season, but several articles popped up about other teams (and hopeful teams) with their own problems:
New Seattle MLS team announced, but faces uphill stadium battle.
Vancourver Whitecaps won't have cross border rivalarly with Seattle without their own stadium.
Baltimore Blast could be on the street for two years if a new indoor arena is built on the existing site of long time home First Mariner Arena.

Sexy Football: The L.A. Galaxy just got a little bit sexier - if that's possible with DB in the house? Their new Dutch Coach is a legend as a player, and smooth with the media. It might be the best choice Alexi Lalas has ever made as a GM in MLS as these are two necessary qualities needed in LaLa Land of David Beckham. Why the 'sexier' comment? Because incoming coach Ruud Gullit coined the phrase 'sexy football' while commentating a match in Europe a few years ago. He was describing the smooth, free-flowing style of play that is more attractive to watch than kick and run and defensive bunkering. Although it's not an appropriate term in youth soccer, I hope all you coaches out there still hold this as your goal. Just call it the Beautiful Game instead please! Check out Andrea Canales' take on the coaching appointment.

Time to Vote: 2007 Best Of voting is underway at USSoccer.com and several locals are in the running. Freddy Adu is on the list in 3 categories; Best Assist, Best Goal, and Best Performance (Player). Arlington's Summers Grill and Sports Bar is on the list for Best Soccer Bar. The DCenters AND Soccer Insider are up for Best Soccer Blog, and Rockville Soccer in Rockville, Md is on the list for Best Soccer Store. Vote today!

Bob Bradley Interview: Hey Coaches! Are you trying to help your players make it at the National Team level? How about advance your own coaching career? Well, the top boss Bob Bradley sat down for a video interview sharing his thoughts and philosophy on what it takes to make it at the highest level.

NCAA Preview: ESPN's Graham Hays previews the Women's NCAA tournament, with mentions on William and Mary's Claire Zimmeck, as well as Virginia's defensive strength.
