---- Notes ----

Former George Mason men's soccer standout Denis Hamlett has been named interim head coach of the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer.

FC Frederick is planning a Summer Futsal League in July for U9-U14s. The league will be for all FCF members and their friends who would like to play as well as anyone who would like to field a team that is not a member of FCF.

Siobhan Rooney and Ronda Brooks each scored for Atlanta Friday night as the Hampton Roads Piranhas fell in W-League action 2-0 at the RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium at Silverbacks Park.

The Richmond Kickers picked up three points on the road, shutting out the Bermuda Hogges 2-0. The Kickers return to the University of Richmond Stadium tonight to host the Cleveland City Stars in the US Open Cup Second Round. The winner will advance to the Third Round to host the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer on Tuesday, July 10th.

Columbian U-20 International Harold Urquijo was instrumental in leading Crystal Palace USA to a 2-0 halftime lead. The good news is that Crystal Palace (3-4-3) extended their undefeated run to six. The bad news is that for the second time this season the Cincinnati Kings (2-6-4) capitalized on a late goal against the run of play to snatch points away from Palace.

Hundreds of kids and parents gathered at Ben Lomond Park near Manassas on Saturday for the Kohl's American Cup/Soccer Quest 4 v. 4 Festival. Soccer balls flew through the air as players, their siblings and parents participated in the various events and activities at the all-day event.

Have you seen Benny Feilhaber's goal against Mexico from Sunday? OMG, it's a thing of beauty!

Just some more stats on the USA v Mexico rivalry

Shut out streak by the Piranhas sets PDL record. After exhaustive research of the USL archives, it has been determined that the Hampton Roads Piranhas 5-0 victory over the Northern Virginia Royals Saturday set a league record for consecutive shutouts in the Premier Development League at 10. With three more shutouts this season, they'll have the record for most in a season. Is this team playing in the wrong division? USL2 anyone? Beuhler?
