Maryland and Virginia State Cup Finals are this weekend! What's your prediction for the winners? Virginia and Maryland State Cup predictions.
D.C. United are already in LA preparing for Saturday's clash with the Galaxy. But the Bekham-less Galaxy probably wishes United would have missed their flight out west considering they have just 13 total field players available for the match! Who is going to play their reserve league game on Sunday? Maybe Jurgen Klinsmann will guest play (seriously, he really might). I'm just glad the game isn't on 'til after the U.S. game. After seeing Gracie, the new soccer movie, in the afternoon, then the US match, then DCU, you might as well call me Fido, because I'll be living in his house outside.
Let Freedom ring! Gazette.net ran a story on Washington Freedom joining the W-League for 2007.
Jeff Carlise of ESPN SoccerNet writes about Saturday's U.S. National team game against China and how coach Bob Bradley is being forced to field young forwards due to half the team not being released from their MLS clubs until Monday.
Charles Boehm on D.C. United's return to winning and their gain in confidence going into Saturday's clash with a depleted LA team.
There was a bunch of press swirling around David Beckham's England recall for today's game in London, but here on this side of the pond it stirred the pot to the point that the LA Galaxy had to make an OFFICIAL statement that he would not be loaned out to another team after the MLS season, but that he would be released for meaningful England matches (is there any other kind in England?).
Was the eight month wait really necessary to make Bob Bradley the permanent Head Coach of the MNT? I agree with Jeff Carlise that it wasn't. It's obvious Coach Bradley wasn't the first choice, but in the end it really doesn't matter, because he is a good choice, and won't let the way it happened affect his confidence in the slightest!
Weekly rankings nearing an end. Even without many games played over the Memorial Day Weekend, lots of teams moved up and down based on old game results aging out of the calculations. Weekly rankings will be published for two more weeks, then monthly until the fall season begins. |
