Maryland State Cup Finals are this weekend! Virginia is two weeks. What's your prediction for the winners? Virginia and Maryland State Cup predictions.

How Much Soccer is Too Much Soccer? What on earth is a youth soccer team doing training four times per week, and playing games on weekends? It's happening all around us, so be sure to read this to make sure you know the trouble signs pointing towards an over-use injury.

Steven Goff's Soccer Insider reported yesterday that the US Soccer Federation will launch a national boys' academy program and national youth league to improve American soccer at the teenage level. They report says USSF plans to identify 60-80 youth clubs across the country from which to select players U-15 through U-18 to participate in the academy. This would be a major step by the USSF to take youth development more seriously. Let's just hope they don't limit it only to kids already participating in the "rich" youth clubs, or at least require such clubs to have scholarship programs to qualify. Some of our best future players are lucky to have the funds to afford a decent ball or the fees charged by some rec programs, but could never support the costs of participation in travel soccer.

Marc Connolly of USSoccerPlayers.com discusses the upcoming Gold Cup tournament and the US Team chosen. The 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup is the regional championship put on every two years between national teams from n will take place from June 6 to June 24 in cities across the U.S.

Adu happy to see Eskandarian again, writes Peter Richins of MLSNet.com. The two were reunited after last weeks trade between Toronto FC and Real Salt Lake sent a stunned Eskandarian to the Rocky Mountain Club.
