> World Cup Rotation System Could End After 2014
FIFA president Sepp Blatter said the system of rotating the World Cup among continents could end after the 2014 tournament, a move that could hurt the United States' bid for 2018. Whether it continues will be decided when the executive committee meets in Durban, South Africa, ahead of the 2010 qualifying draw on Nov. 23. ---- Boasts ----
Jay Howe of the Fugitives men's soccer team scored the goal of a lifetime on Sunday afternoon in the pouring rain during play in Washington International Soccer League's top division. His long, powerful shot caught the opposing keeper off guard, bouncing once in front of him, then over his head into the net. Happens every day you say? Not really - Jay is the Fugitives' Goal Keeper, and his goal was off a line-drive punt of at least 75 yards in the air before the fortunate bounce into the net. Fugitives won the game 2:1 and sit in 2nd place in Division 1 with 7 points after 3 games.
