W&M athletic trainer Hollie Walusz invited to work with the US WNT

11 Jan, 2010

William and Mary Tribe athletic trainer Hollie Walusz was invited to work with the United States Women’s National Soccer Team last month and will work with the team during its upcoming training camp.

As part of her duties, Walusz will travel to Los Angeles, California to be with the team at their training camp that runs from January 17-February 5 at the Home Depot Center. Walusz will be providing health care and rehabilitation for the team, and will also be responsible for the daily practice and gameday coverage of the team during its games against South Korea and Honduras.

Assistant Athletic Director for Health Services Renee Cork said of Walusz, “Hollie’s clinical skills and work ethic are a great asset to our Sports Medicine program. It is a great honor for her to be invited to work with USA Women’s Soccer and I am happy to share Hollie with them.”

Walusz has worked for William and Mary since July of 2007 and works primarily with women’s soccer and baseball. Prior to working for the College, Walusz completed her undergraduate work at the University of Northern Iowa and then worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of North Carolina for women’s basketball, crew, and the fencing teams.
