OMG! what a shameful display: BYU vs New Mexico women's soccer shocker
6 Nov, 2009Ready for the most sensational women\'s college soccer video highlight package you\'ve even seen? How on earth all of his activity was missed by the referees is unbelievable. The offending player - Elizabeth Lambert - is very likely being pursued by professional wrestling promoters as we speak. Not saying her nemesis didn\'t do anything to provoke a reaction from Lambert, but this sort of stuff is completely over the top. The FA, FIFA, MLS, USSF, WPS, and just about any other soccer "body" out there would punish this severely - let\'s see if the NCAA cares about soccer. Should be a LEAST a 5-match ban for Lambert, if not an entire season for that ponytail yank that could have literally broken the opponent\'s neck.
Lambert was not cautioned, and it\'s not even clear on these highlights if any fouls were even given. The referees should also have to answer to someone for missing all of this, and putting the safety of the players at risk.
Irony of the whole thing. BYU won on a goal by a girl named "Payne". Guess they had the last laugh.

[update] Some ESPN video on the incident. Looks like Lambert has been suspended indefinitely.
