Liberty's Chorak named to Top Drawer All-Rookie Team

22 Nov, 2008

Liberty freshman midfielder Karol Chorak has been selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Rookie second team, the web site announced this afternoon.

Chorak was named to the web site’s all-rookie second team and was the only Big South player to be placed on the team. The squad, selected by the editors of Top Drawer Soccer, was headed by midfielder Matt Kassel of Maryland.

Chorak, a native of Saint Louis, Mo., started every contest in his first season in a Liberty uniform.  The midfielder finished the year third in the Big South Conference with eight assists and was second in the league in assists per game (0.44 assists per game).  Chorak ranked 27th in the nation in assists per game in the last NCAA statistical report on Nov. 16.  His season assist total ties him with six other players for fourth on the Liberty single season total list.

The midfielder was selected to the 2008 Big South All-Freshman team this season. The first-year player helped the Flames post a 10-5-3 mark on the year, their second consecutive 10-win season.
