MLS kicking off thirteenth season this weekend

24 Mar, 2008

Jamie Trecker profiles the state of Major League Soccer for FoxSoccer.com as the 13th season of play is set to begin this weekend. Besides claiming MLS is now the "big dog" league in this hemisphere, he says the biggest development fo the league leading up to this season is getting the least amount of attention - the improvement of the quality of play on the field. The biggest failure so far he blames on college soccer for not doing a good job at developing players. D.C. United is cited as team at the forefront of brining new talent to the USA from other countries. This isn't really a news story, but with the season about to begin, it deserves to be in our headlines.
