US Women drop Italy in Algarve Cup for 2nd group win
7 Mar, 2008For the second game in a row, the United States Women came out determined, and in the sixth minute took the lead on a Lindsay Tarpley goal, and they never looked back. A late goal by Heather O'Reilly rounded out the scoresheet in what was a 2-0 victory over Italy in Group B action at Restinga Stadium in Alvor, Portugal.
The United States are in control in Group B, with six points and a +6 goal differential heading into Monday's contest with Norway. Kickoff for that match, also at Restinga Stadium, is set for 11:00 a.m. ET.
