Tutor's two scores lead Mary Washington men past Va. Wesleyan, 2-1

2 Sep, 2010

Senior forward T.L. Tutor (Islesboro, Me., Gould Academy) scored a pair of second half goals to lead the University of Mary Washington men\'s soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Virginia Wesleyan College on Wednesday night in Virginia Beach. Despite being edged in shots, 10-9, Tutor\'s heroics allowed UMW to overcome a 1-0 deficit.

Virginia Wesleyan opened the scoring after a scoreless first half when Nick Forneau scored in the 47th minute. Tutor tied the score six minutes later on an assist from senior Jae Park (Herndon, Va., Herndon). Tutor provided the game winner in the 86th minute unassisted. Junior Robby Davis (Locust Grove, Va., James Monroe) crossed the ball toward goal, and the keeper\'s deflection came to Tutor, slid the ball into the open goal.

The Marlins edged UMW in shots, 10-9, while Eagle goalkeeper Alec Constantine (McLean, Va., Langley) had five saves. Virginia Wesleyan keeper Zmuda had three saves.
