Individual Honors:
Virginia senior forward Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) was named the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Week. Lenczyk recorded four goals and an assist in the Cavaliers’ wins over Liberty and Colgate last week.

After scoring two goals in Loyola University Maryland’s 3-2 victory over Towson University on Saturday night, sophomore forward Nichole Schiro earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.

UMBC senior midfielder Sandra Vacarino recorded a league-high three points and was named America East Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the first week of the season.

Senior Christine Calderon (Yorktown, Va. / York) has been named the season\'s first Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in two games.

William and Mary Tribe senior women’s soccer player Danielle Axenfeld was named the CAA Player of the Week. The honor is the first for Axenfeld in her career.

No. 2 Virginia men shut out VMI, 4-0, in preseason action
The second-ranked Virginia men’s soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over VMI in exhibition action Monday evening at Klöckner Stadium. Sophomore midfielder Ari Dimas (Chesapeake, Va.) led the Cavaliers offensively with a goal and two assists.

Virginia tops Virginia Commonwealth in pre-season men\'s soccer exhibition
The second-ranked Virginia men’s soccer team opened its preseason schedule with a 1-0 exhibition victory over VCU Friday afternoon at Klöckner Stadium. Sophomore midfielder Ari Dimas (Chesapeake, Va.) scored the game-winning goal for Virginia.

The No. 7 Virginia women’s soccer team opened the 2010 season with a 4-0 win over intra-state foe Liberty Friday night at Klöckner Stadium. The Cavaliers scored a pair of goals in both halves to start the young season with a 1-0-0 record.

No. 7 Cavalier women blanks Colgate 6-0
The No. 7 Virginia women’s soccer team continued its strong start to the 2010 season, cruising to a 6-0 victory over Colgate Sunday afternoon at Klöckner Stadium. The Cavaliers outshot the Raiders 30-0 in the contest, as they improved to 2-0-0 on the season.

Lady Hoyas score five goals in seven minutes in 9-0 American drubbing
An American University women\'s soccer record crowd of 1,511 fans came out to Reeves Field on Saturday afternoon for the season opener, but the hometown support was not enough to keep the Eagles close to Georgetown. The Hoyas pulled away late in the first half with a flurry of goals en route to a 9-0 victory.
Player Note: Freshmen Brenna Smith from nearby Ashburn, VA and 3-time State Champion with Broad Run high school started and played the first 35 minutes.

American University women fall 3-0 at #15 Virginia Tech
The American University women’s soccer team traveled to Blacksburg, Va., on Monday afternoon, and came up on the short end of a 3-0 decision to the 15th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies.

Towson women\'s soccer edged by Loyola in non-conference season opener
Loyola sophomore forward Nichole Schiro scored two goals in the first half to lead Loyola University Maryland to a 3-2 non-conference victory over Towson University in the season opener for both teams at the Ridley Athletic Complex on Saturday evening.

VMI women overwhelmed in season opener to visiting Austin Peay 6-0
The visiting Austin Peay Lady Govs outscored VMI 6-0 in the second half, en route to winning by that margin over the Keydets in VMI’s regular season opener Friday afternoon at Patchin Field.
