For the Hampton Roads Piranhas, profit is not the goal

Marcie Laumann, owner of the local Hampton Roads Piranhas W-League and PDL soccer teams, enters each season with one primary goal - to break even. Accomplish that much, and Laumann celebrates the year as a success. Though it\'s a financial risk that rarely provides any profit, Laumann continues to run the Piranhas because of her passion and love for the sport.

A number of lower division franchises have come and gone, though Laumann seems to have found the secret formula - set modest expectations.
