D.C. United stay on top with mid-week draw at Kansas City

7 May, 2009

D.C. United gave up yet another road lead this season on Wednesday in Kansas City, but continued to benefit from the play of a strong rookie class. Former Maryland Terp Rodney Wallace netted the opener for United in the first half, but Josh Wolff sneaked a cross in on the near post in the 2nd to earn his team the draw.

Despite the dropping of points on the road, United remains at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, and faces second-place Toronto Saturday at RFK. A win would put some distance between the Black and Red and the rest of the pack atop of the standings.
