28 Jul, 2008Crystal Palace FC USA has announced that their USL2 league match against Bermuda Hogges FC on Sunday August 3rd has been moved from UMBC to Poly/Western High School in the City of Baltimore. The game, which kicks off at 5:30pm, will anchor the Baltimore International Festival’s (BIF) 4th Annual Mayor’s Cup Soccer Tournament.
The festival takes place from noon to 9:30pm Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 on the sports fields of the Poly/Western High School Complex located at 1400 E. Cold Spring Lane.
Members of Crystal Palace FC USA will be in attendance at Mayor Dixon’s press conference announcing the BIF Festival Activities Schedule on Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 at 10:00am, in the City Hall Rotunda. The players will then proceed to Port Discovery Children’s Museum at 12:00p.m. to exhibit their soccer skills, sign autographs and distribute Crystal Palace items.
“We would like to thank Mayor Dixon for the opportunity to be involved with this great event,” said Palace USA President and Co-Manager, Pete Medd. “We're so pleased to be a part of the annual Baltimore International Festival. I strongly encourage our existing fans to come out and participate in this great free festival - there will be an unbelievable atmosphere and a wide variety of activities and food that will make our game an even greater event."
Medd continued, “We’re really pleased to have developed this relationship with the mayor's office and this, along with our soccer program at Patterson Park, shows our commitment to soccer in Baltimore City.”
