Gallardo is D.C. United highest paid player ever
4 Apr, 2008The Washington Post’s Steven Goff has published MLS player salaries for the upcoming season, and they reveal just how much D.C. United’s first-ever Designated Player will cost the club. To be exact - $1.5 million in base salary, and $374,000 more in guaranteed income. This does not include any endorsements the former Argentinean National Team star may secure. The $1.87 million nearly matches the combined salaries of all other United players, which rounds up to $2.3 million. United traded the well proven Christian Gomez in order to make room for Gallardo rather than offer Gomez the $430,000 he demanded.
