D.C. United fall behind Pachuca 2-0 despite high effort
2 Apr, 2008D.C. United dropped their opening match of the two-match home and away series against Pachuca of Mexico on Tuesday night in Mexico. Despite a strong start, the altitude of 7,000+ feet, and the brilliance of two late Pachuca substitutes put United in a hole that will be difficult to dig themselves out of next Wednesday at RFK for the 2nd leg of the series. The winner will advance to the CONCACAF Champions Cup Finals against either Houston or Saprissa of Costa Rica. The winner of that game will represent our region of the world in the eight-team Club World Cup in November.
