Video: Is this truly "perfect football"?
23 Oct, 2007Ok, I might be a little bit of an Arsenal fan, but nothing too fanatical. I support Fulham, Reading, Derby, Rangers, etc., basically any team that features American Internationals. But of the "super teams", Arsenal is where I hang my hat.
As a coach, I often discuss with my players how the truly perfect game of soccer would be played with a team in 100% of possession, with the ball never having to leave the ground. Impossible, yes, but something to reach for.
In Arsenal\'s 7-0 demolition of Prague on Tuesday, you rarely see the ball leave the ground, nor a player take more than 3 touches. The results are astonishing and should be held as a shining example of how easy this game can be when skilled players work together as a team.
