New England spoils Olsen's coaching debut with 1-0 win over D.C. United
8 Aug, 2010New England ruined Ben Olsen\'s debut as D.C. United coach by posting a 1-0 victory at Gillette Stadium. Pat Phelan notched the lone goal of the game, a header off a free kick at midfield right before halftime.
United had their chances but failed to convert, giving the Black-and-Red their fourth consecutive loss.
New D.C. interim coach Olsen made two changes from United\'s 3-0 defeat at Real Salt Lake. Bill Hamid replaced Troy Perkins in goal, while Chris Pontius returned up front with Danny Allsopp settling for a place on the bench.
