Washington Freedom fall 3-2 to Atlanta Beat, skid continues

29 Jul, 2010

The Washington Freedom (4-7-5) extended their losing streak as they fell 3-2 to last place Atlanta Beat (4-7-4) Wednesday night. Nikki Marshall scored a first half equalizer and midfielder Sarah Huffman came off the bench to scored in the 64th minute and give the Freedom the lead. However, they couldn\'t hold on, and surrendered the lead to lose their fourth game in a row.

Atlanta had a disallowed goal early in the game on an indirect free kick that was taken as a direct. Atlanta GK Hope Solo saved a Sonia Bompastor\'s penalty kick going into halftime that preserved the tie going into the break.
