MLS players prepared to strike

After more unsuccessful league and union negotiations this week in Washington, DC, more than 350 MLS players supported a strike and only two opposed it in a written vote, according to the Washington Post.

MLS has offered to start the season under the conditions of the previous CBA, which was scheduled to expire Jan. 31 and extended multiple times before being discontinued in late February amid disagreements about free agency within the league, guaranteed contracts and other issues.
