VIDEO: Donovan has goal and assist in Everton's 5-1 rout of Hull City

7 Mar, 2010

U.S. International Landon Donovan came off the bench for the last 20 minutes of Everton's win over Hull City on Sunday. He made his mark in the game quickly as he shot a one-touch rocket to the far post past the Hull City GK for the fourth goal of the game in the 81st minute. Donovan then continued to impress after centering a ball to Jack Rodwell for an assist on the fifth and final goal of the game.

Donovan is on loan from the LA Galaxy, and is expected to return on March 15, twelve days before the Galaxy's season opener against the New England Revolution. Donovan is proving he can be an impact player in the English Premier League, but an MLS strike may be the only thing that can keep Donovan at Goodison Park longer than the original loan agreement.

Check out highlights of the game in the video below. Donovan's goal comes at about the 2:45 mark, and his assist is directly after:

Surprised he took that one-touch shot as hard and with as much confidence as he did considering the "miss of the season" against Tottenham last week?
