Richmond Kickers PASL indoor team names coach
2 Sep, 2008Richmond Kickers Indoor of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) have signed Head Coach Kyle Lessig for the 2008-09 season.
“I'm extremely happy to accept the position of head coach for the 08/09 PASL season” comments Lessig, “and I look forward to building an entertaining team with a balance of quality and experience. We have a solid core of local players to build from last season as well as some exciting prospects to bolster the roster"
A native of New London, Connecticut, Lessig brings six years of professional playing experience to Richmond Kickers Indoor after stints with the Connecticut Wolves (USL-1), New Jersey Stallions (USL-2), Municipal de Goicoichea Costa Rica (First Division) and Philadelphia Freedom (USISL Indoor).
Lessig assumed the Head Coach position for the Richmond Kickers Future of the Premier Development League prior to the 2007 season and currently coaches two teams with the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club, U-17 Boys Elite and U-12 Boys Elite.
Additionally, he has gained extensive youth coaching experience with the Richmond Strikers, AC Alliance (Director of Player Development), Colonial FC (Director of Coaching), Barrington FC and New London Sounders Premier (Founder, Director of Coaching). The former Connecticut College men’s soccer assistant coach, Lessig acted as the head coach of the Richmond Rowdies, Richmond’s PASL indoor team last season.
After one year at Philadelphia University, Lessig transferred to the University of Hartford where he captained the NCAA Division 1 soccer team and earned a degree in secondary education. He holds a USSF “B” License and has experience with the USSF Youth National Team Pool.
