Three locals invited to upcoming id2 National Training Camp

The attendee list has been unveiled for US Club Soccer\'s upcoming id2 National Training Camp comprising female players born in 1994, 1995 and 1996 as part of the organization\'s national player identification and development program. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based camp, held in conjunction with the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), will take place Feb. 26-March 1, 2010, at Vista Park.
 
A total of 64 players representing 39 clubs are slated to attend the camp. Of the 64 players, 36 were born in 1994, 23 in 1995 and 5 in 1996.
 
The camp will provide an additional opportunity for the best female players from the fall 2009 id2 Regional Training Camps to be exposed to U.S. Soccer National Team staff while also providing an initial opportunity for first-time attendees.

The newly-formed camp will complement the following three id2 Regional Training Camps for boys born in 1996-97 and girls born in 1995-96:
Oct. 1-4, 2009, at the PDA Soccer Complex in Zarephath, N.J. (boys and girls)
Nov. 12-15, 2009, at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas (boys and girls)
Dec. 10-13, 2009, at Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Ariz. (boys)
 
"This camp will be the biggest talent pool that we have been able to bring together in my two years at this position," said Rory Dames, US Club Soccer\'s id2 Girls Program Director. "I am very excited to see the players compete with and against each other over the duration of the camp, and the staff looks forward to making it challenging and fun for all involved.
 
"This is the first event featuring players scouted through the ECNL Player Identification Program," said ECNL President Christian Lavers. "The ECNL\'s partnership with the id2 program allows us to provide a way for players that have excelled in ECNL competition, in games against many of the best clubs in the country, to receive additional developmental opportunities and national-level exposure. We hope this camp will be the first of many events where the ECNL can help provide a no-cost identification outlet for ECNL players."
