WAGS division structures posted a day early, league invites appeals

The division structures for the spring 2010 season of the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS) were posted live on their web site today, a day ahead of the schedule listed on the league website. Division structure posting day is one of the most anticipated dates every winter, as teams find out if they did enough the previous season to either promote to the next level, or avoid dropping a division.

For teams that do not feel they were properly placed, and are willing to go through the appeals process, WAGS President Kathie Diapoulis reminded league members during an interview with Potomac Soccer Wire this evening, "They just have to let me know before February 17th, and I will bring it before the board."

Though the ability to appeal has been a standard each season for some time now, Diapoulis said that teams often don\'t point out mistakes until much closer to the beginning of the season schedule, which is too late. However, if done within the deadline, they will consider appeals, "There are some things [during the decision process] that we miss we didn\'t know about, that weren\'t submitted to us. We can only do as good a job as the information we\'ve got."
