Navy men announce 2009 spring schedule

Six home games, including Saturday\'s spring season opener against Crystal Palace FC, dot the 2009 Navy men\'s soccer spring schedule. The Mids will open its spring campaign with the contest against Crystal Palace FC on Feb. 28, and will conclude with a road game at Villanova on April 25. Saturday\'s game against Crystal Palace FC will begin at 1:00 pm at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

Following the opener, Navy will host Mount St. Mary\'s, VMI and UMBC on March 28, The following weekend (April 4), Navy wraps up the home schedule against George Washington and James Madison.

Navy will take to the road for its final two games, battling Penn State at Warwick H.S. in Warwick, Pa., on April 11, before traveling to Villanova on April 18.

All dates, locations and times are subject to change.

Head coach Dave Brandt takes over the reigns for the Navy men\'s soccer team in 2009, after winning six national titles in 12 years at Messiah. He welcomes back 16 letterwinners from last year\'s squad that posted a 4-11-3 overall record.
