1 Feb, 2009

The U.S. Under-17 Men\'s National Team earned a 2-0 win against Chile in their first of four matches of the La Serena Cup in La Serena, Chile. Jack McInerney and Charles Renken scored two early goals to put the U.S. ahead 2-0 in just the eighth minute.

Renken, who making his first international start since recovering from ACL surgery in 2008, put away a pass from Stefan Jerome in just the second minute. Six minutes later, Jerome picked up his second assist of the day as McInerney, the team\'s leading scorer in 2008, put away the USA\'s second goal. The U.S. defense, led by captain Perry Kitchen, did the rest, limiting Chile to just two shots on goal, which Earl Edwards was able to handle to keep the clean sheet.
