UMBC freshman forward Andrew Bulls was a unanimous selection to the 2008 America East Conference Men’s Soccer All-Rookie Team
5 Nov, 2008UMBC freshman forward Andrew Bulls (Millersville, Md./McDonogh) was a unanimous selection to the 2008 America East Conference Men’s Soccer All-Rookie Team.
Bulls led UMBC with eight goals and 18 total points in his maiden season. The eight tallies are the most for a Retriever freshman since Derek McElligott netted a dozen in 2001. He is currently ranked sixth in the America East Conference in goals per game (0.47) and points per game (1.06).
Bulls was a four-time America East Rookie of the Week, the most awards for a conference first-year player since Boston University’s Roland Erlichman collected four in 2004.
Boston University freshman Michael Bustamante earned Midfielder and Rookie of the Year honors, becoming just the fourth player in league history to earn multiple end-of-year awards in the same season.
