College Boasts
Scott Robertson, a former Richmond Kickers Future PDL defender and a 2006 Thomas Dale HS grad, was one of five Navy players selected to the UMBC adidas Kickoff Classic All-Tournament Team while taking top honors as tournament MVP.

Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski picked up career win No. 218 as the fourth-ranked Terps defeated No. 25 Duke 1-0 on Friday night. Maryland keeper Will Swaim (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) played another tremendous match between the poles and is now 4-0 in 2008.

Chris Agorsor posted his fourth goal of the year to help Virginia defeat NC State, 5-0, on Friday night.

George Mason Freshman Axel Levry (Ft. Washington, Md./Oxon Hill) scored his first collegiate goal off an assist by Anthony Han (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) to kick off a campaign that eventually led to a 4-0 win over Richmond on Saturday night.

William and Mary Senior forward Nathan Belcher (Bluefield, Va./Virginia Legacy PDL) scored the game-winning goal to go along with an assist in his second career start on Saturday night against Elon. Price Thomas (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) notched his first goal of the season. Senior Captain Doug McBride (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) registered his second assist of the season. The Tribe won the contest 2-1, extending their unbeaten streak to five matches.

The VCU men thrashed Coastal Carolina 4-0 on Sunday afternoon to improve to 4-3-0 on the year. David Rosenbaum (Washington, D.C.) fed a beautiful pass through the Coastal Carolina defense to a cutting Gerson Dos Santos to start the scoring in the seventh minute. Junior Jake Van Yahres (Charlottesville, Va.) rocketed his first VCU goal past the Coastal Carolina goalkeeper to extend the advantage to 3-0 in the 48th minute.

Annesia Faulker (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) carved a little space for herself in the Maryland record book in the Terp’s 10-0 rout of Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon, tying the school record for assists in a game.

For the first time in program history, the ODU Lady Monarchs (7-1) defeated an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) team on Sunday, as they dropped NC State (7-2) with the final score 1-0. Sophomore Kelsey Williams knocked in the deciding goal off assists from junior Jodi Knorowski; both women are from Newport News, Va.

William and Mary women's soccer team produced a historic offensive outburst to defeat Akron 6-0 Sunday afternoon. The Green and Gold attack, which produced 20 points Sunday, was led by junior Kellie Jenkins (Williamsburg, Va.) with two goals and an assist. Claire Zimmeck (Fairfax, Va.) buried a shot in the back of the goal for her team-leading sixth goal of the year. Anna Kayes (Arlington, Va.) also found the net for the first goal of her collegiate career on only her second career shot.

The VCU women beat Navy, 3-1, this weekend for a 4-4 record heading into conference play. Junior June Hartman (Virginia Beach, Va.) got the Rams on the scoreboard first and sophomore Laurel Pastor (Springfield, Va.) followed up after the lone Navy goal to even the score. VCU GK Kali Van Covern (Waynesboro, Va.) picked up her second consecutive win in net.

The James Madison women's soccer team beat 17th-ranked Penn State 1-0 before a school-record crowd and a national television audience Thursday evening at the JMU Soccer Complex.

College Notes
The American University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision to cross-town rivals George Washington on Saturday at Reeves Field.

The No. 9 Virginia women’s soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to No. 15 West Virginia 3-0 Sunday at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
