Local teams at US Youth Soccer National Championships
24 Jul, 2008PSW is keeping up with the 2008 US Youth Soccer National Championships so you don't have to dig for information while trying to keep up with the three teams from our area vying for national glory.
Day 2 Update: After two days of play, only Baltimore Casa Mia Bays 93 are still in the running for a championship, as both McLean and Freestate are more than 3 points out of 2nd place with only one game left in group play, so cannot advance to the final.
Day 3 Update: Bays go undefeated and un-scored-upon. They'll face Solar Red from North Texas in the finals Saturday night. (note: the tournament web site shows VU Blast Red in first place of Pool A, but the schedule says Bays play Solar Red. Solar Red may be ahead of VU on tie-breaker, but the web site does not show it that way). In other action Friday, both McLean and Freestate lost their last games, each going 0-3 at the finals, but still scoring some goals and representing Region I well.
