NFHS announces rule changes for 2008-09 high school season

The National Federation of State High School Associations has announced rule changes that will be in force for the 2008-09 high school season. The major change is that players – not coaches – will be penalized with a yellow card for subsequent violations of illegal equipment rules. Coaches will still receive the initial penalty. New rules were also outlined for shinguards, sportsmanship, and an increase in allowable field sizes.
