Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer honor Conley, Nichols
29 Jan, 2008Monday's annual awards banquet for the Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer in Glen Burnie was more than just an annual meeting this year for Walkersville boys coach Kevin Conley and Urbana girls coach Chuck Nichols. At the banquet, both were named MACS coaches of the year, a special award reserved for an elite group of coaches. Conley's Lions enjoyed one of their best seasons under his watch. Walkersville went 10-2-2 and shared the Piedmont Conference title with Middletown. Nichols, who coached Thomas Johnson to two state girls soccer championships, guided Urbana' girls soccer team to the state Class 3A championship last fall.
