Bays, McLean, and Bethesda SC on Soccer America’s best 25 club list
31 Jan, 2008Soccer America Magazine has released its annual list of top youth clubs in the country.
On the boys side, Baltimore Bays came in at number seven thanks in no small part to movement of Casa Mia Bays under the Baltimore Bays umbrella. A U-16 national championship in 2006, final four appearance in 2007, and the U-14 National Championship in 2007 racked up the points for Soccer America’s formula for calculating club strength.
On the girls side, McLean Premier Soccer burst into the top 10 with a number seven rating, with their U-16 girls Freedom taking the 2007 National Championship.
And once again, the area’s model for consistency in putting out great teams – Bethesda Soccer Club placed on both boys and girls lists. Number 15 on the boys side, and 23 on the girls. The top 25 ranking is the fourth out of five years on both the boys and girls side for Bethesda.
