Five local players among 72 invited to U-18 training camp

U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team head coach Bob Jenkins announced his list of 72 players invited in for the mega-camp running January 17-24 at the IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla. All of the players were born on or after Jan. 1, 1990. The massive camp is expected to identify the core roster that will train to compete in the 2009 U-20 World Cup. Forty-three of the 72 players are from clubs that are a part of U.S. Soccer’s Development Academy Program. Local players: Norris White (Kensington, Md.), Nick Yin (Bethesda, Md.), Paul Torres (Bethesda, Md.), Parker Walsh (Roanoke, Va.), Will Bates (Chester, Va.).
