Two locals brought into U.S. U-14 Girls' National Team training camp at The Home Depot Center

U.S. Soccer Women’s Development Director Jill Ellis will bring 36 players to The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., for U.S. Under-14 Girls’ National Team training camp running from Sept. 18-25. This will be the only U-14 GNT training camp this year.

Most of the players were chosen from annual U-14 GNT Identification Camp that takes places every summer, which this year was held in Portland, Ore., and featured 72 players from all over the country. Ellis chose 32 players that participated in the I.D. camp and added an additional four. The majority of the players were born in 1997, the birth year for the 2014 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup, with several born in 1998. This will be the last camp before the players’ transition to the U.S. U-15 Girls’ National Team pool in 2012.
