Fall 2010 Virginia State Cup draw results

The Virginia Youth Soccer Association Fall 2010 State Cup draw took place Tuesday night at the VYSA offices in Woodbridge. The entire draw results will be available later Wednesday once the state staff has had time to double-check the results for accuracy. However, Potomac Soccer Wire has compiled the list of top seeded teams in each category.

For those not familiar with the process, each Cup year only eight teams in each age and gender category are purposefully seeded by a committee. Typically those eight will be the final eight finishers from the previous year, as long as those teams returned at least eight players on their official roster. All remaining teams beyond those eight seeded teams are then randomly drawn and placed into brackets based on those randomly drawn seeds. This is what took place last night. The first eight seeded teams in each category were chosen last week. If your team is the 29th seed, it means nothing other than you\'re not in the top eight. The 9th seed and the 29th seed are considered the "same".
