Devon McTavish to represent D.C. United in Pepsi Refresh Project competition

D.C. United veteran defender Devon McTavish will be competing against players from all other 15 clubs in Major League Soccer in the Pepsi Refresh Project. The winner of a fan vote will earn a $50,000 Pepsi Refresh grant to fund community activities. McTavish will contend for the grant to benefit United Soccer Club, an after-school program for D.C. area youth that promotes physical activity, soccer and a healthy lifestyle.

"The Pepsi Refresh Project provides fans the opportunity to help D.C. United make a difference off the field, out in the local community," said McTavish. "United Soccer Club is a great program, which helps disadvantaged kids right here in our community. I encourage all the fans to vote and help us make a difference where it\'s needed."

Starting today, fans can vote for McTavish as he vies for the Pepsi Refresh grant, which will be awarded to the project that garners the most votes. The voting period lasts until September 20 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, and fans can vote up to 25 times per day per computer at
